I felt both seen and empowered by his insights. BASB is reassuring and non-judgy Forte offers a way of thinking through problems rather than specific solutions. I’m now starting to benefit from the information firehose instead of drowning.įorte’s BSAB is not really a system, but a theory of digital information management you can apply in any way you like. I bought this book not expecting much (I’ve been burnt before) but Building a Second Brain (BASB) made a huge difference. I’ve talked about it a LOT with my friend Jason on our Podcast On The Reg, particularly this one and this one and, more recently, this one. I’ve talked about the issue on the blog here and here. I’m obsessed with the problem of note taking for academic work. You can watch a video about PostAc UK and sign up to get updates on the release here.
